Pseudocode and Commented Code

The scoring on my game isn't very difficult to understand. When predators appear you will hit them for one point. Then children will appear and if you hit them you will lose two points. That completes this blog about pseudocode on scoring.

Presentation Reflection

I thought this presentation we had to do was a waste of my time. The lady who I spoke to had nothing positive about my fabulous game :D. Each question I was asked was retarded. I think hitting rapist is better then screaming/running, in my opinion. I was told to change my game because I shouldn't encourage children to hit sex offenders, but the original game encourages children to hit defenseless rodents, so I don't really understand why I'm forced to change anything in my game, therefore I don't intend to. I honestly don't care what all the people representing this class have to say because I like my game just the way it is.

Demo Creation

I don't believe I have learned anything new about my game topic sense starting the demo. I don't believe I've acquired anything, especially a "new knowledge" because producing a game taught me about flash not sexual predators.
If I could talk to the journalists, website content-writers, Wikipedia authors or other "knowledge producers," I would not ask them to improve anything for my benefit, I would ask them to do a documentary on a few families around our country who have missing children due to predators. If anyone was to do this it would benefit so many people, not for a gaming reason, but for many other concerns.
I will be honest and say that I have not taken anything for the creation of my game into my hands. I mainly rely on the people around me for help and Mrs. Smith because I must be mentally handicap to not understand the coding, the wiki, and everything else we have done in Globaloria. I could definitely improve my learning skills by coming to school everyday and not browsing the web, but only I can change that and I most likely will continue to play on the internet, but I will be attending school more regularly, so I will hopefully start learning literally.

Planning a game.

I'm planning this game on my own. Most people in this class prefer to work alone, we all have specific ideas for games. I want to incorporate my game into a whack-a-mole format (as shown to the left). I will not be using any moles for my game, but I will be replacing them with pedophiles in my area, as well as having children pop up. The catch to my game shall be not to hit the kids or your score will drop, I feel this shows strangers are bad and to stay away from them in an easy concept children can understand.

Game Idea

My game idea would be Stranger Danger. I wanted to make a game that can teach kids tactics to prevent getting kidnapped and how to handle a situation if they were to encounter a pedophile/stranger. With the help of Mrs. Smith I got a game idea that I was not so interested in before, but after a little research and seeing the statistics I am actually very happy to have this topic.

Mini Game

Oh the lovely minigame.
I did every single step wrong. Although it made me extremely angry, I tried to do every step. I do not think I've finished still, but I have all the steps done. They're just done wrong, a little. However I did enjy learning how to create a game, it was fun. I only wish I could remember all the steps to make a lot on my own.

Research.

Do your kids know who their talking to?
Everyday in the US, 2,200 children are reported missing. Only 1 of every 6 are recovered due to a photograph. Some may run away, but some are also kidnapped. Families are torn apart, never knowing if you will see your child again is one of the hardest things to live threw. With education from schools, parents, police officers, and so many other sources we can prevent children from talking to strangers and help them point out whom could be a rapist.

The tragic abduction and murder of 6-year-old Adam Walsh in 1981, as well as those of Etan Patz and Russel Mort, brought national attention to the issues faced by the families of missing children each year. Local business and community leaders, including Lou and Kathie Bivona and local child welfare agencies, responded by forming the Adam Walsh Child Resource Center in 1984. Located in Rochester, New York, the Adam Walsh Center merged with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in 1990 to become the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children/New York Branch.

Everyday someone can step in and help find these children before another murder happens. Teach children about internet safety as well as safety in real life, every child needs to know.

Prototype.

Making a prototype for Stranger Danger was quite the experience. Mrs. Smith brought in little angels as people the first day and I had to transform them into rapist, I'm sure everyone in the class really enjoyed that! Recorded was probably the most difficult part to making the prototype. I knew what I was going to say, but announcing it aloud was difficult, I could not keep myself from laughing. In the end everyone finished including myself, it was rather fun.

Genres

I am most interested in the simulation genre. Life simulation games are games I already play like Sims. I'd be most interested in these types of games and am actually curious about how they're being made, I'd like to be able to make one.

Protect your privacy

You need to protect your privacy online for serveral reasons, most of which most people already know. If you put your personal information online such as your name, age, phone numbers, emails, and ect there is an unlimited amount of people who may be able to read and/or find that information. Be safe and keep your information safe, especially in Globaloria!

p.s.
I cannot upload picture for my blog, sorry.

Globaloria

In Globaloria I hope to learn and actually remember how video games get started and work, instead of only playing them I'll understand them as well. I will make a game that's easily understandable, maybe something like Dora the Explorer! I'm most afraid of failing your class because everything I do in this class I do wrong, but hopefully that will change.
